BES is collecting canned and boxed food items to create Thanksgiving baskets for families in need right here in our school community!
Each grade level has been assigned specific food items to help us fill Thanksgiving baskets. Families are welcome to donate additional nonperishable items as well.
Every donation, big or small, makes a difference! Let's come together and show what our Lil Buccaneers can do when we give from the heart!

No school for students this Monday, October 26th . It’s a Professional Development Day for all teachers and staff. Enjoy your 3 day weekend.
Our annual Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive begins October 28th thru Nov 13th. Please bring non-expired canned or boxed goods to help families in the Branford area during the fall break. The class that brings in the most non-expired goods will win a pizza party. Information will be sent home with students the beginning of next week.
Please make sure your child’s name is clearly labeled on all personal belongings, including jackets, hoodies, sweaters, water bottles, lunch boxes, and other items brought to school. This helps us quickly identify the owners of lost or misplaced items and return them to the right child. Thank you for your help and cooperation.
BES kicked off Red Ribbon Week today, Friday, October 23rd! This is a great opportunity to remind our Lil Buccaneers about the importance of making healthy choices, saying NO to drugs, and living a drug-free life! Be Happy. Be Healthy. Be Drug Free!
Just a friendly reminder that costumes are NOT permitted at school on Friday, October 30th. Save those costumes for Saturday, October 31st, and join the fun at Branford's Community-Wide Fall Festival on the Greenway, followed by trick-or-treating!
The Parental Tip of the week is to support learning routines. Keep a steady home study schedule, set a consistent bedtime, and limit late-night screen time.

Get ready to read, Lil Buccaneers! Branford Reads runs September 8 through April 8.
Each grade level has a designated list of books. To qualify for the Branford Reads Field Trip at the end of the school year, students must:
• Read all books on their designated grade-level list.
• Take a test on each book.
• Score 80% or better on each test.
The last day to read and test is April 8.

Parents and guardians are invited to enjoy lunch with their child during their regularly scheduled class lunchtime.
• Reservations are required; space is limited.
• Students may have up to 2 guests.
• Lunch will take place in the Great Hall.
• Guests may bring lunch to enjoy with their child.
