Message from principal

Deidre McManaway

Greetings,
It's a delight to be the principal of such an amazing community school in Branford, Florida. Surrounded by the Suwannee River and many beautiful springs, what family wouldn’t want to enjoy our area? Branford is a great place for children to grow. Branford Elementary School prides itself on being a small part of that growth for children. Each day students come to school from many different backgrounds and experiences. Branford Elementary School has a full staff of dedicated individuals who make sure to keep the well-being of each student as top priority.
Our school is unique in that we implement a block of time each day in every grade level for intervention/enrichment called The Buccaneer Block. If students need academic intervention, they join with a highly qualified, reading endorsed teacher for small group intervention in order to master skills in reading. If students are proficient, that time of day is used to attend one of four areas; our STEAM Lab, Computer Lab, Music Room, or Media Center. We are most proud of this project as it has developed a culture of achievement for everyone on campus. In addition, our Florida school grade has increased significantly since the inception of this endeavor.
Branford Elementary School has a strong APT (Association of Parents and Teachers) who meet monthly discussing the academic data and growth of our school, fundraisers, activities, events, and overall support of our faculty and staff. The Branford Community shows our school much support through this organization. We all know school success cannot happen without everyone focusing on the same goal. What a treat to have such parent and community support from the BES APT families!
I encourage you to come by and visit Branford Elementary or our website if you are thinking of allowing us the privilege of having your child join our school. If your child already attends our school, please come join us for parent involvement activities, attend APT meetings, and give us feedback to improve what we do together to make Branford Elementary School a great place to learn and grow.

Sincerely,
Ms. Deidre “Dee Dee” McManaway, M. Ed./Leadership
